About Journey Home Community

Our mission Inspired by God’s love, we are creating caring communities

that offer refugee claimants housing, settlement support, and opportunities for connection.

Our vision We envision a society where all refugees experience hope and belonging as they engage in meaningful participation in their community and flourish in all aspects of life. Journey Home Community exists to welcome newly arriving refugee claimant families into the Metro Vancouver area.

Will you support our vision and draw alongside refugee families?

Families arrive after fleeing persecution, seeking a new home in a safe place. After settling they are ready to utilize their multiple skills and abilities to make Canada an even better place!

join us in making a difference for these courageous families.

RIDE or WALK with us on October 4.

Money raised in this year's Ride for Refuge is going to support a range of vital supports for newly arriving refugee claimants. You will be helping us:

- Provide transitional housing and emergency food security

- Case-managed support including direct settlement services

- Referrals to existing community resources

- A caring community that shares welcome, love, and belonging

A few common sense suggestions:

  • A cell phone for emergencies (recommended but not required)
  • Your bike and helmet or walking shoes
  • Extra snacks if you have allergies or food sensitivities
  • Your own water bottle
  • Warm layers with moisture-repelling clothing. Early October weather can be cool, with rain and wind. The weather might also be gorgeous and sunny. So be sure to keep your eye on the forecast.
