About Journey Home Community

Walking Together Toward Hope.

Our Mission

Inspired by God's love, we are creating caring communities that offer refugee claimants housing, settlement support, and opportunities for connection.

Our Vision

We envision a society where refugees experience hope, belonging, and meaningful participation in community life.

Journey Home Community welcomes newly arriving refugee claimant families to Metro Vancouver as they begin rebuilding their lives in safety. Through housing, support, and community connections, we help create spaces where newcomers become neighbours.

Will you join us?

Families arrive after fleeing persecution and displacement, seeking safety and a chance to start again. As they settle into their new communities, they bring skills, experiences, gifts, and perspectives that enrich our neighbourhoods.

Together, we can help refugee families find not only a place to live, but a community where they are known, welcomed, and connected.

Join us in making a difference.

RIDE or WALK with us on October 3.

Funds raised through Ride for Refuge support vital programs and services for newly arriving refugee claimant families, including:

  • Transitional housing and emergency food security

  • Case-managed settlement support

  • Referrals to community resources

  • Opportunities for friendship, connection, and belonging within the community

Every dollar helps create opportunities for refugee families to move from uncertainty to stability, and from newcomers to neighbours.

  • A cell phone for emergencies (recommended but not required)
  • Your bike and helmet or walking shoes
  • Extra snacks if you have allergies or food sensitivities
  • Your own water bottle
  • Warm layers with moisture-repelling clothing. Early October weather can be cool, with rain and wind. The weather might also be gorgeous and sunny. So be sure to keep your eye on the forecast.
