2801 Walter Scott Wy, Regina, SK S4S 0B3

Walk 4 Providence will begin and end at the Queen Elizabeth II West Lawn, northwest of the Saskatchewan Legislative Building and just to the west of the flower gardens.

The planned route will take participants around the West Wascana Lake, creating an enjoyable walk of approximately 4 to 5 kilometres. It is a comfortable distance for individuals, families, teams, and community groups and can generally be completed in about 45 to 75 minutes, depending on each participant’s pace.

The route offers a wonderful combination of natural beauty, familiar Regina landmarks, and peaceful green spaces.

Participants will begin with impressive views of the Saskatchewan Legislative Building and Queen Elizabeth II Gardens. As the walk continues around the lake, they will enjoy views across the water, shaded pathways, landscaped park areas, and opportunities to see ducks, Canada geese, pelicans, and other wildlife commonly found throughout Wascana Centre.

The walk will also include views of the historic Albert Street Memorial Bridge, one of Regina’s most recognizable landmarks. The lake, mature trees, open lawns, and city skyline will provide many attractive places for photographs and moments of reflection along the way.

Much of the route follows Wascana Centre’s established, relatively flat pathways, making the walk welcoming and manageable for people with a wide range of ages and walking abilities. Participants can enjoy the route at a comfortable pace rather than treating it as a race.

Starting and finishing at the QEII West Lawn will also create a natural gathering place for registration, opening activities, team photographs, refreshments, celebration, and the conclusion of the event.

Walk 4 Providence is therefore more than a fundraiser or community walk. It is an opportunity to spend time together, enjoy one of Regina’s most beautiful public spaces, support Providence, and complete a meaningful and achievable 4 to 5 kilometre journey.
