The RIDE is a family-friendly fundraising ride/walk where we gather for local charities that support people who are seeking hope, safety, + freedom all across Canada. Join us Saturday, Oct 4, 2025!
Aimee Beaulieu Transition House, a program of Nelson Community Services, offers emergency safe shelter and compassionate support for self-identifying women and their children fleeing domestic violence and abuse. Our dedicated Women’s Support Workers provide 24/7 crisis line response, emotional support, safety planning, and guidance on accessing local resources.
The Transition House opened its doors in May 1995 and is named in memory of Aimee Beaulieu, who, along with her infant twins David and Samantha, was tragically murdered in Nelson on April 2, 1992. Their case remains unsolved, but their memory lives on through the vital work we do every day.
By joining or supporting our Ride for Refuge team, you can help ensure that women and children in crisis receive the care and essentials they urgently need. Many arrive with little more than the clothes on their backs. Your support helps provide necessities like clothing, pajamas, toiletries, and more.
For some, rebuilding means relocating for safety or starting over from scratch in the community. Funds raised through the Ride make these transitions possible, offering stability, dignity, and a fresh start.
Every dollar you raise or donate makes a meaningful difference. Together, we can ride in solidarity with survivors, raise awareness, and ensure that no woman or child faces violence alone.
Ride with us. Fundraise with us. Support the journey to safety and hope.
The hope is to have the start location at Mary's Hall at the 10th Street Selkirk College Campus.
If this is not possible, the start location will be just up from that on the Svaboda parking lot.
The 10km route turnaround will be clearly marked
