About Genesis House
Genesis House exists to empower survivors of abuse.
Since 1984, Genesis House has managed and operated a five-bedroom emergency shelter with capacity for 16 individuals. Stays at the shelter and associated programs are at no cost to residents. During the 2022-2023 fiscal year, Genesis House had 2548 individual bed nights in its emergency shelter for women and children exiting situations of violence.
In addition to being a 24/7 emergency shelter; we offer counselling, support groups, safety planning, advocacy, and education on family and intimate partner violence.
