About Social Development Centre Waterloo Re...

All across Waterloo Region, people are supporting one another, organizing their communities, and working for change. The Social Development Centre (SDC) helps connect these efforts so people can share ideas, build relationships, and take action together.

We can all see that Waterloo Region is changing. Issues that were once invisible are becoming impossible to ignore. And most residents feel disconnected from the decisions shaping affordability and community life. But there are reasons to feel hopeful. SDC is where people's hopes and lived experiences are transformed into a collective voice for change. To read about our latest actions, check out our homepage at waterlooregion.org.

Event Day Details

Save the date - RIDE Day is October 3, 2026!

This year you'll be riding to help save a program whose funding has come to an end: the Civic Hub. Civic Hub is currently home to 65 grassroots groups who see a gap, bring people together, and try something new to make things better. From Food Not Bombs and Willow River Centre. To FairVote WR and Women of Grace International.

Between now and October 3rd, we're rallying our community to raise $20,000 to keep the Civic Hub open until the end of 2026 while we look for longer-term support. Can we count on you to show up for this vital piece of community infrastructure? Every act of support matters. Ride. Walk. Volunteer. Donate.
