What to Bring

A few common sense suggestions:

  • A cell phone for emergencies (recommended but not required)
  • Your bike and helmet or walking shoes
  • Extra snacks if you have allergies or food sensitivities
  • Your own water bottle
  • Warm layers with moisture-repelling clothing. Early October weather can be cool, with rain and wind. The weather might also be gorgeous and sunny. So be sure to keep your eye on the forecast.
  • A passion for the charity you're walking and fundraising for!

About Community CARES Youth Outreach

Community CARES Youth Outreach (CCYO) is the only non-profit organization dedicated to supporting youth and families in the Northside communities of Sydney Mines and North Sydney. We empower young people by addressing critical issues like housing, healthcare, education, and food security through direct services and crisis intervention. CCYO’s programs are designed to help youth overcome barriers, build essential life skills, and achieve their full potential. This year, we’re joining the RIDE campaign, a national fundraising initiative by Ride for Refuge, to raise vital funds for our mission. By participating in the RIDE, you’ll help us continue transforming lives and building a stronger, more resilient community. Together, we can make a lasting impact on the future of our youth.
