What moves you? Join us on October 2, 2021 for the Ride for Refuge, a family-friendly cycling and walking fundraiser that supports charities who provide refuge and hope for displaced, vulnerable, and exploited people everywhere.

Event Day Details

Save the date - RIDE Day is October 2, 2021!

The Ride for Refuge is a family-friendly cycling and walking fundraising event. Team Captains select their charity of choice when they start their team.

Virtual RIDE Day

This is your own self-organized event! Here are some key things you'll need to do on October 2 (or whatever day your team participates):

  • Gather with your covid-safe bubble (or on your own)
  • Map out a safe cycling or walk route
  • Let someone know where you are
  • Bring a cell phone in case of emergency
  • Add cash and cheque pledges to your Fundhub
  • Share online as you go! #ride21
  • Keep fundraising (half of all fundraising happens in the last week!)
  • Be safe and have fun!

RIDE T-Shirts

Good news! If you've earned your t-shirt, we'll mail it to your home!

We'll send a groovy RIDE shirt to those who raise their minimums ($150 for adults, $75 for those 17 and under). Fundraise early and you'll be able to wear your shirt proudly for weeks before event day. It's a great conversation started as you recruit teammates.

About Reception House Waterloo Region

Reception House provides assistance to newly arrived refugees in the Waterloo Region. We have welcomed and supported thousands of refugees since 1987.

We focus on ensuring that newcomers settling in Waterloo Region are successful by providing temporary accommodations, orientation to life in Canada and access to health care. As our newest neighbours begin to settle and integrate into our community, we assist with providing support to secure meaningful jobs and access to mental health care so that healing from loss and trauma can begin.

More than ever before, we need your support. Waterloo Region and our communities are strongest when we all provide our newest neighbours with a warm welcome.

Through capacity building, case management and referrals, we strive to provide all refugees in Waterloo Region a successful settlement experience. With support from people like you, we know we can provide a warm welcome to our newest neighours! Ride with us this fall and help create a welcoming
