Reception House provides assistance to newly arrived refugees in the Waterloo Region. Reception House has welcomed and supported refugees coming to K-W for 30 years.
We offer temporary accommodation, health care services, initial orientation and on-going settlement assistance for families or individual's within their first year in Canada. In 2016, almost 50% of those we served were under 13 years old.
The world is facing a global refugee crisis. There are now over 50 million people displaced due to armed conflict and persecution. Since 2016, we have increased services by 500% to meet growing demand.
We are riding this September to raise funds and provide on-going support to refugees we are working with.
Please help either by riding/walking with us or donating to support this important work in our community. We hope you will join us in welcoming our new neighbours. Together we make Waterloo Region a more welcoming place for newcomer refugees!
