What moves you? Join us on October 5, 2019 for the Ride for Refuge, a family-friendly cycling and walking fundraiser that supports charities who provide refuge and hope for displaced, vulnerable and exploited people everywhere.
Renascence Homes operates two group homes for boys ages 8-16, on neighbouring acreages in Sturgeon County. Our 8 boys come from Edmonton and northern Alberta, needing some specialized caregivers and programming.
1. Boys need exercise (great for the mind, body, and spirit) - so we provide them with a variety of outdoor experiences like hockey, baseball, soccer, hiking, biking, fishing, trampoline and more.
2. Boys need structure and consistency - like going to a well-organized summer camp all year long!
3. Boys need to be loved - many of our boys have had traumatic experiences of neglect and abuse, so our house parents and staff care for them deeply.
4. Boys need to learn how to get along with their peers, adults in their world, and wspecially with themselves - we are constantly using life situations to help them understand who they are.
Our project this year is to build a multi-use sports court at our Riverside group home that will be used by all the boys.
