What moves you? Join us on October 5, 2019 for the Ride for Refuge, a family-friendly cycling and walking fundraiser that supports charities who provide refuge and hope for displaced, vulnerable and exploited people everywhere.
Hope Restored International exists to help children and their families have a brighter future through providing education to the poor and marginalized in India. Hope Restored provides the opportunity for children and their family to work towards freedom from the cyclical poverty and hopelessness they have known. We work with qualified groups to prosper in education through six tutoring centers and one English immersion school, in various locations within India.
Why do we do what we do? One of our students, Anuprabha, is a good example of how Hope Restored tutoring centers change lives:
Anuprabha was studying in 7th grade near one of our centers in South India, (her father passed away in the beginning of the academic year). She missed him so badly that she was not able to come out of her sorrow and she was not able to go to school. The instructors at our center took the time to encourage her and show her a bright path for the future. Now she is back in school and she is attending our tutoring center regularly. She is doing well in her studies and she has received two awards for drawing and science from the school.
For most of our students, including Anuprabha, this is the only place available for them to relax, comfortably study and receive the help they require.
Without the encouragement and help of the Hope Restored tutoring center staff, she may never have returned to school. Many of the children who drop out of school get hooked on drugs or alcohol or end up in bonded labor. Even worse for girls is that they are susceptible to being sold or lured into child sex slavery.
Help us to help them to have their “Hope Restored” for a better future.
