About Global Youth Volunteer Network

Global Youth Volunteer Network: fostering worldwide community and relationships!

Ride (or walk) with us September 30th!

We provide an opportunity for non-Indigenous Canadians to connect and develop relationship with Indigenous peoples by visiting them in their own communities.

The purpose of these trips is to provide education and understanding for non-Indigenous students while learning first hand from the Aboriginal community about injustices they face, to break down stereotypes and barriers to promote transformational and sustainable change. Working with our Peruvian partner, Dehujanm, we would like to provide the opportunity for Indigenous Canadians to share and learn with the Indigenous communities in Peru. With this inter-cultural community exchange, we hope to accomplish an increased awareness of issues faced by Indigenous peoples in the Americas as well as strengthen the youths’ understanding of Indigenous rights, culture and relationship to the ecological community.
